Event Photography for THCF Run/Walk for The Camps
Tim Horton Children’s Foundation Run/Walk For The Camps 2014
On May 25th, Bcreative once again participated in the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation (THCF) Run/Walk For The Camps at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. 2014 is a big year for the THCF as they are celebrating both their 40th anniversary (1974) and a great accomplishment of serving over 200,000 economically disadvantaged children and youth in those 40 years. The foundation was established by Ron Joyce in memory of Tim Horton and his love for children as well as his desire to help the less fortunate.
The Event
The weather was sunny and hot for the event creating perfect conditions for the run/walk. A huge relief considering all the rain we had received in the week prior. The run/walk consisted of 5km and 10km distances for the runners/walkers to complete. Tim Hortons supplied a variety of food and beverages for the event including coffee, juices, water, muffins and other baked goods. The large number of encouraging volunteers arrived an hour before the event started and made the event run smoothly for the 700+ participants of the run/walk. The volunteers helped out in the hydration stations (supplying water at stations along the track), food & beverage tent (distribution of breakfast to participants), with registration, with handing out medals and even waited at the finish line to cheer on the runners/walkers.
With over $30,000 in donations they announced the top individual donor ($2,000) and the top team donor ($5,400). Every donation helps to make a difference no matter what the amount. On June 4th, 2014 make a trip to your local Tim Hortons to buy a coffee for Camp Day with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.
